#3: A-Z West

The initials A-Z stand for Andrea Zittel. The American artist lives in Joshua Tree, California, where she has built the art production site A-Z West as an artwork. In addition to her home and a workshop with weaving and pottery, there are various residential units with which Zittel explores spaces, objects, and ways of life. For me, her Guest House is the ideal place to pause during my research journey and to reflect on one’s own space.

Feminist initiatives of the 1970s in NY and LA

In the 1970s, art and society were on the move and Lucy Lippard was in the thick of it. An art critic, author, curator, and political and cultural activist, she helped found organizations such as the Ad Hoc Women’s Art Committee, the Art Workers Coalition or Heresies – and was involved in many other initiatives.
